Week of 5/13/13

Can you believe it's the last week of school?? Where has the time gone? Mrs. Amy and I have had so much fun watching each and every student grow and learn this year! It has been such a great year!

PARENT REMINDERS FOR THIS WEEK:

*May tuition is now due! If you paid for the zoo field trip, just subtract that amount from your amount that is usually due! Please make checks to HFYH!

*Tuesday May 14th- Pajama Day!

*Wednesday May 15th- End of the Year Carnival! 10:00am-11:00am
We will be having an inflatable obstacle course, pony rides, face painting, the duck pond game and a dunking booth! All parents are welcome to attend!

*Thursday May 16th- Last Day of School! This is a half day! All children will be picked up at 11:30am!

*Graduation is at 6:30pm on Thursday over in the new main campus sanctuary. Doors will open at 6:00pm and students will need to report at that time. Pre-School will be in the purple room, please use the teal door in the main children's ministry hallway to enter into the purple room.

*All students will need to wear a HFYH shirt (any color) and please no flip flops or "high" heels. The children will be walking up stairs and on risers so we do not want anyone to fall!

*After graduation, please join us for refreshments in the Hospitality Room located next to the Cafe'.

Week of 5/6/13

This week we will be learning how to:

Write and recognize the letter Y.
Write and recognize the number 13.
Our nursery rhyme: London Bridge
Our memory verse: "You, O Lord keep my lamp burning."

We will read the stories: 100th Day Worries, The Big Yawn and Yard Sale.

Happy Birthday, Tessa M on Tuesday! :)

Tuesday is the 100th day of School! We will be getting together with Mrs. Tracy and Mrs. Nancy's pre-school class to have a party! Don't forget to bring in 100 pieces of a snack off of the school approved snack list to make our special trial mix!

PARENT REMINDERS:
*May tuition is now due! Please make checks to HFYH! If you paid for the zoo field trip, just subtract that amount from the regular school amount that is normally due!

*Pizza Fundraiser money is due this Thursday! Please make checks to HFYH!

*Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad is this Thursday from 8:15-9:00am in the Gym! Doors will open at 8:15 and students need to be in their classrooms at 9:00am! Due to allergies, please keep all food and drink in the gym!

*May 16th- Last Day of school! This will be a half day! All students will be dismissed at 11:30!
Graduation is at 6:30 over in the new sanctuary across the street! Doors will open at 6:00pm. All students will need to be there by 6:00pm for line up. All students are asked to wear a HFYH shirt (any color) and please NO FLIP FLOPS! The children will be walking up steps and onto risers so we don't want any falls! :)
Pre-School will be meeting in the purple room at 6:00, please use the teal door in the main children's ministry hallway as an entrance to the purple room.


Can you believe that we only have two weeks of school left? This year has flown by! Mrs. Amy and I have had so much fun watching the kids grow and learn! 


Week of 4/29/13

This week we will be learning how to:

Write and recognize the letter J.
Write and recognize the number 12.
Our nursery rhyme: Jack and Jill
Our memory verse: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and in the future."


We will read the stories: Jamberry, Sheeps in a Jeep and Five Little Monkey's Jumping On the Bed.

Our Star student is: Cameron :)

Turoni’s Pizza Pick-Up: Wednesday May 1st.
Money is due Thursday May 9th.
 
*May 9th: Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad in the Gym.
Doors will open at 8:15am and children will need to be in their rooms not later than 9:00am.
 
*May 16th- Last Day of school! School will be HALF DAY that day! ALL students will be dismissed at 11:30am!

Review Week!

Write and recognize the numbers: 11, 10 and 9.
Recognize and sort stars and trapezoids.
Our memory verses: "Unto thee, O God do we give thanks." -Psalm 75:1,
"Give and it will be given to you." -Luke 6:38 and "Children, obey your parents." -Ephesians 6:1.
Our nursery rhymes: Rain, Rain Go Away, Bingo and Ring Around the Rosey.

We will read the stories, "The Crayon Box That Talked" and "Good Night, Gorilla."

Our Star Student this week is: Noah :)

*Zoo Field Trip Money AND Permission slips are due Tuesday!

*Class Picture is Tuesday!

*Zoo Field Trip is Wednesday! If your child has a HFYH shirt, please have them wear it! The bus WILL LEAVE at 8:30am. Please have your child at school before then so that they can use the restroom before we leave. Please DO NOT be late! Parents are welcome to join us, if you can chaperon a group, please send in the form so that we can put groups together!
Parents may follow the bus or meet us at the gate and pay to join us! Full day kids, we will have the afternoon session so don't forget your lunch!

*Scholastic Book Orders are due April 25th!

*HFYH T-Shirt Order Forms for Graduation due April 25th! Every child must wear a HFYH shirt for graduation.

This week we will be learning how to:

We will be working on our cutting skills, fine motor skills and memory skills this week.
We will read the stories: Under the Water, Aliens Love Underpants, and Great Day For Up.

We will begin discussing the 6th day of Creation. On Day 6, God made the animals and the people.
We will read the stories: "Giraffes Can't Dance", "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" and "Green Eggs and Ham".

Week of 4/1/13

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break and a Happy Easter!

This week we will be learning how to:

Write and recognize the letter C.
Write and recognize the number 9.
Recognize and sort trapezoids.
Our nursery rhyme: Ring Around the Rosey
Our memory verse: "Children obey your parents." -Ephesians 6:1

We will read the stories: From Caterpillar to Butterfly, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Our memory verses, "Delight yourself in the Lord." -Psalm 37:4, "Quench not the Spirit." -1 Thessalonians 5:19 and "Obey your leaders." -Hebrews 13:17
We will discuss Good Friday and Jesus' Resurrection on Easter Sunday

We will read the stories: Good Job, Jelly Bean!, Clifford's Happy Easter and The Night Before Easter.

PARENT REMINDERS:
*Turoni's Pizza Orders are due THIS Thursday the 21st! The top seller in each grade level will win a $25 Toys-R-Us gift card! Every student that sells 5 pizzas gets a prize!

*Spring Break is next week! March 26-28! Enjoy your week off!

*If your child is full day, please remember to send a drink and proper utensils with them every day!

*Please clean out your child's HEART binder each night!

*Don't forget to have an extra set of weather appropriate change of clothes inside your child's backpack in case of an accident!

*Need a place to worship for Easter Sunday? Join us here at BGUMC at our NEW main campus across the street! Services will be held on Sunday, March 31st at 8:10am, 9:30am and 10:50am!

Sort and recognize octagons.
Our nursery rhyme: One, Two, Buckle My Shoe.

We will also be joining Mrs. Tracy's pre-school class to do a taste testing of oranges and orange juice.
We will be making a math graph and find out which one we think is sweeter, the orange or the orange juice.

We will read the stories: "Talk, Oscar, Please!", "Owl Moon" and "Lazy Ozzie".

Our nursery rhymes: Little Bo Peep, Baa Baa Black Sheep and Rub-a-Dub-Dub.
Our memory verses: "Put on the full armor of God" -Ephesians 6:11, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love." -Galatians 5:22-23 and "Rejoice in the Lord always!" -Philippians 4:4.

We will read the stories: "P.J. the Spoiled Bunny", "Do Pirates Take Baths?" and "Rosie's Walk".

PARENT REMINDERS:

*Valentine's Day party is this Thursday at 10:30am in the Gym! Remember, this is a half day that day. If your child is full day, they will need to be picked up at 11:30! Parents are welcome to come to the party.
The children are allowed to bring in Valentine's to pass out to their friends. We have 16 kids total. Due to allergies, please do not send any candy with peanut butter or nuts in it.

*We do need parent volunteers to work the party or bring in supplies for the party on Thursday. There is a sign-up sheet right outside Mrs. Tracy's room. If you are able to help, please do!

*We are still collecting box tops for education. You can send those in with your child at anytime.

*Again, we have had quite a few students and teachers out with respiratory illnesses and the flu. If your child has been vomiting, had diarrhea, a fever or has green or yellow mucus. PLEASE DO NOT send your child to school! Your child MUST be symptom free for 24 hours before sending them back to school. We would like to keep illnesses from spreading as much as possible!
Also, if your child is going to be absent, please call the school office at 867-3997 or email me at CrystalHFYH@gmail.com and let us know! Thank you for your cooperation with this! :)
