Week of 2/25/13

This week we will be learning how to:

Write and recognize the letter O.
Write and recognize the number 6.
Sort and recognize octagons.
Our nursery rhyme: One, Two, Buckle My Shoe.
Our memory verse: "Obey your leaders." -Hebrews 13:17
We will also be joining Mrs. Tracy's pre-school class to do a taste testing of oranges and orange juice.
We will be making a math graph and find out which one we think is sweeter, the orange or the orange juice.

We will read the stories: "Talk, Oscar, Please!", "Owl Moon" and "Lazy Ozzie".

Our Star Student this week is: Sophia :)

PARENT REMINDERS:
*We are still collecting box tops for education. You can send those in with your child at anytime.
We have now started collecting Labels for Education. They are found on Goldfish boxes and bags and on Campbell's soup labels. Those can also be sent in with your child at anytime!

*Spring Break is 3.25-3.29!

*Please clean out your child's Heart binder every night!

*Registration for next year is filling up VERY fast! Please register your child for next year by Feb 27th!
Please fill out the form, circle if you would like half day or full day and make your $50 check out to HFYH!

*HFYH OPEN HOUSE: February 27th and 28th from 9am-noon! Come check out all of the programs offered at HFYH! You can come check out a pre-K class in action for your child next year or if you have younger children a Jumpstart class (2-3 year old) class in action as well. On Wednesday, you can see a Toddler Time (1-2 year old) class in action as well. If you know someone who is interested in our school, please send them for a tour on those days! Thanks in advance for your support! Parents and students are our best advertisement! :)

Review Week!

This week we will be reviewing:

How to write and recognize the letters: P, B and R.
How to write and recognize the numbers: 3,4 and 5.
How to recognize and sort: rectangles, rhombus' and hearts.
Our nursery rhymes: Little Bo Peep, Baa Baa Black Sheep and Rub-a-Dub-Dub.
Our memory verses: "Put on the full armor of God" -Ephesians 6:11, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love." -Galatians 5:22-23 and "Rejoice in the Lord always!" -Philippians 4:4.

We will read the stories: "P.J. the Spoiled Bunny", "Do Pirates Take Baths?" and "Rosie's Walk".

Our Star Student this week is: Tyler :)

PARENT REMINDERS:
*A BIG THANK YOU to all of the parents that volunteered to help at our Valentine's Day party and a BIG THANK YOU to all of the parents that donated supplies/food for our party! The kids had such a great time and loved every minute of it!

We will read the stories, "Valentine Mice", "The Biggest Valentine Ever" and "The Night Before Valentine's Day".

Our Star Student this week is: Avery :)

PARENT REMINDERS:

*Valentine's Day party is this Thursday at 10:30am in the Gym! Remember, this is a half day that day. If your child is full day, they will need to be picked up at 11:30! Parents are welcome to come to the party.
The children are allowed to bring in Valentine's to pass out to their friends. We have 16 kids total. Due to allergies, please do not send any candy with peanut butter or nuts in it.

*We do need parent volunteers to work the party or bring in supplies for the party on Thursday. There is a sign-up sheet right outside Mrs. Tracy's room. If you are able to help, please do!

*Again, we have had quite a few students and teachers out with respiratory illnesses and the flu. If your child has been vomiting, had diarrhea, a fever or has green or yellow mucus. PLEASE DO NOT send your child to school! Your child MUST be symptom free for 24 hours before sending them back to school. We would like to keep illnesses from spreading as much as possible!
Also, if your child is going to be absent, please call the school office at 867-3997 or email me at CrystalHFYH@gmail.com and let us know! Thank you for your cooperation with this! :)

Week of 2/4/13

This week we will learn:

How to write and recognize the letter B.
How to write and recognize the number 4.
How to recognize and sort diamonds.
Our nursery rhyme: Baa Baa Black Sheep
Our memory verse: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love." -Galatians 5:22-23
We will begin discussing the 5th day of Creation. On Day 5, God made the birds of the air and the fish of the sea.
We will read the stories, " Slugs in Love", "The Best Thing About Valentine's Day" and "Mouse in Love"

Our Star Student this week is: Lane :)

*February tuition is now due! Please make checks to HFYH!

*Valentine's Day Party- 2/14 at 10:30 in the Gym! School will be half day that day! If your child is full day they will be dismissed after the party at 11:30! Please arrange to have them picked up!
