Look and see what great things are happening in our class!

Week of 9/24

This week we will learn:

How to write and recognize the letter N.
How to recognize and sort the color green.
Our nursery rhyme: Jack Be Nimble
Our memory verse: "Now faith is being sure." -Hebrews 11:1
We will read the stories, "Noah's Ark", "The Non-Praying Mantis" and "Naughty Little Monkeys"
We will go on a nature walk around the school and collect different types of nature to make into a craft.
We will make some fun crafts to go along with our letter of the week.
We will begin discussing Day 1 of Creation: "On Day 1, God made light!" We will also make a fun craft to go along with our discussion.

Our Star Student this week is: Lane Hewig for the morning and afternoon! Don't forget a show-and-tell item each day! And please bring in 13 pre-packaged snacks for the morning class snack and 10 pre-packaged snacks for the afternoon class! Please make sure snacks are off of the approved school snack list!

Parent Reminders:
*Library books are due back on Wednesday! If your child does not turn in their library book by Thursday when we go to library, they will not be able to check out a new book.
*Please clean our the folders in your child's HEART binder each week!
*Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on Wednesday for gym class!
*I guess there has been some confusion on the children's journals, so I will explain them a little more.
Every Tuesday your child learns a new nursery rhyme and memory verse from the bible. Your child then cuts their new nursery rhyme and memory verse out and glues it into their journal. The journal is sent home on Tuesdays so that you can go over the nursery rhyme and memory verse with your child if you have time. The journals need to be brought back and put in your child's chair bag by the end of the week. (Thursday) Hope this clears some questions up! :)
*Fall Family Picnic is Thursday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m!
*School Pictures are November 5th!
*Scholastic Book Fair starts December 3rd!

We are going to have another great week! Check back to see what great things are happening inside our classroom!
